Video Playback

After you select a video, XiaDown opens the YouTube playback page. The controls available depend on the current video and the capabilities returned by YouTube.

Playback controls

Control	Purpose
Play / Pause	Control the current video.
Previous / Next	Move through the current queue.
Timeline	Seek to a specific position in the video.
Volume / Mute	Adjust the sound.
Playback speed	Choose a speed supported by the current video.
Subtitles	Turn subtitles on or off and choose an available track.
Audio track	Switch when the video provides multiple audio tracks.
Quality	Choose a resolution provided by the current video.
Full screen	Enter or exit in-app full-screen mode.
Up Next	Open the current queue.

Unavailable controls appear disabled. Live streams, Shorts, and regular videos may provide different controls.

Video information

The playback page can show the title, channel, publish time, view count, like count, description, and other information. When YouTube does not provide a field, the page leaves it empty or marks it unavailable.

Interactions and channels

• Select the person icon to the left of the channel information to subscribe to or unsubscribe from the current channel.
• Select the channel avatar or name to open the channel page.
• Select More at the top of the page, then choose Like or Dislike. The current choice is highlighted; choose the same action again to remove it.

These actions sync to the account signed in through the current YouTube App Session. If you are signed out or the session has expired, connect and verify YouTube under App Sessions first.

When playback fails

• Reload the current video.
• Check the network and proxy.
• Verify the YouTube App Session.
• Confirm that the video was not deleted, made private, or restricted for the current account.

To save the video, use Download in the player.
