Getting Started
XiaDown is a library management app with video downloading. Its five feature areas are Library, Sniffing, Music, YouTube, and RSS, and every download result is collected in the Library.
Recommended order
Section titled “Recommended order”- Install XiaDown and complete the first launch.
- Meet the main interface and its five feature areas.
- Create your first video download.
- If online content does not load, check Network and proxy.
Five feature areas
Section titled “Five feature areas”| Feature area | Main purpose |

| Library | Create download and transcode tasks, and manage tasks and local files. |
| Sniffing | Open a page in a browser and capture the media resources it loads. |
| Music | Browse and download YouTube Music, and play local music from the Library. |
| YouTube | Browse, search, play, and download YouTube videos. |
| RSS | Add subscriptions, read entries, and download their media. |
Where downloads go
Section titled “Where downloads go”Downloads created from links, media captured through sniffing, content downloaded from Music or YouTube, and media downloads started from RSS all become tasks in the Library. After a task completes, you can browse its files by categories such as video, audio, or images.
When sign-in is required
Section titled “When sign-in is required”YouTube, YouTube Music, and some download sites require an account session. Open Library → App Sessions to sign in through XiaDown. You can also authorize XiaDown to sync sign-in state from the current Chrome session or a supported local browser profile. App Sessions are stored locally.
