Add and Import Subscriptions
RSS can add sources from the Discover directory or a pasted feed address, and can import an OPML subscription list.
Search or paste an address
Section titled “Search or paste an address”- Open RSS → Discover → Search.
- Enter a topic or site name, or paste an RSS or Atom address.
- Select a search result.
- Wait for XiaDown to load a preview from the real feed.
- Confirm it, then click Subscribe.
You can retry if the preview fails. Some sources require route parameters, server configuration, or sign-in state; the page displays the required conditions.
Browse Discover
Section titled “Browse Discover”Open RSS → Discover → Browse to find sources by categories such as social media, new media, blogs, programming, design, live streaming, or photography. You can also narrow the list by language, title, or popularity sorting.
A parameterized source opens its configuration page first. Complete the fields marked required before continuing to the preview; example values only demonstrate the expected format.
Import OPML
Section titled “Import OPML”- Open RSS → Manage.
- Click Import Subscription List.
- Choose an OPML file.
- Wait for the import to finish, then review the imported, skipped, and failed counts.
XiaDown displays a message when the file contains no valid feeds or has an invalid format. Duplicate sources may be skipped.
First fetch
Section titled “First fetch”XiaDown needs to fetch content after adding a subscription. The list may remain empty temporarily when the network is slow, a source is unavailable, or additional configuration is required. Refresh it manually from Manage or try again later.
